A Beautiful Stay in the Heart of Kalimpong 🌄❤️

Our stay in Kalimpong was truly special, and this homestay made the experience even more memorable. Nestled amidst the mountains, the property offers a peaceful atmosphere, beautiful views, and the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The rooms were clean, cozy, and comfortable, but what stood out the most was the warm hospitality. The hosts were extremely welcoming and made us feel completely at home throughout our stay.

The fresh mountain air, peaceful surroundings, and stunning views of the hills made every morning feel magical. It’s the kind of place where you can simply sit back, enjoy a cup of tea, and let nature do the rest. ☕🏔️

If you're visiting santook Kalimpong and looking for a quiet, comfortable, and homely place to stay, I would highly recommend this homestay. Definitely a place worth visiting again!

One of the best homestay experiences I’ve had!

I genuinely loved my stay at Terra Mist by Terra Stays. From the moment I arrived, I really appreciated the warmth and hospitality of the owner and her mother. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and made the whole stay feel very comfortable.

The cleanliness of the homestay was impressive, and the bathtub was definitely one of my favourite parts. The view from the bathtub is absolutely phenomenal. Honestly, it’s an experience in itself. The eating/viewing area is also beautiful and such a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

But the real star of the property is Bhondu 🐶. I named the dog Bondhu, and he is genuinely one of the best dogs I’ve ever met. Very friendly and an absolute highlight of the stay!

The food was also really interesting. Of course, we’ve all eaten good food before, but here I got to try some dishes that I had never tasted before, and that made the food experience quite unique and memorable.

One thing I really loved is that Terra Mist offers some special experiences, especially the Romantic Bathtub. They beautifully decorate the bathtub with candles and other decorations and arrange food as well. It creates a really beautiful and romantic atmosphere, perfect for couples, but honestly, you don’t have to be a couple to enjoy it.

They also offer a Movie Night / Candlelight Dinner experience, which takes place in the beautiful eating/viewing area. They set up a projector against a white screen, decorate the whole space with candles and flowers, and prepare a beautiful six-course meal for you. They can also provide wine if you want it. Having dinner while watching a movie and enjoying the view makes it a really unique experience.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

If you’re a bigger/taller person (I’m around 6 feet), the bed can feel slightly small.

Also, if you’re someone who is very uncomfortable around spiders or insects, you might notice some around the property. It’s a homestay surrounded by nature, so this is understandable, and you can always let the owner know if you need them taken care of.

Apart from these two small points, I had a fantastic experience at Terra Mist. The hospitality, cleanliness, views, bathtub, food, and of course Bhondu made the stay really memorable.

Definitely a place I’d love to visit again. ❤️

You might book Terra Mist for the landscape, but you’ll leave remembering the hospitality. Run by Damayanti and her mother, this homestay embraces you with genuine warmth from the moment you step foot on the grounds. Every meal is cooked with heartfelt attention, beautifully presented, and packed with fresh flavor.
The property itself is a green sanctuary overflowing with flowers and nature. Sitting inside on a misty morning or stepping out onto the deck offers breathtaking, layered views of the Kalimpong valley fading into shifting clouds. By nightfall, the deck transforms into the ultimate spot for viewing a star-filled sky free of city glow. It is a remarkable stay that perfectly captures why people fall in love with the hills.

Some stays give you a beautiful view, but Terra Mist gives you a memory.

From the moment we arrived, Damayanti and her mother made us feel genuinely at home. Their warmth and hospitality were probably the biggest highlights of our stay. Nothing ever felt forced or routine — whether it was a cup of tea, a meal, or a small thoughtful gesture, everything had a personal touch. The food deserves a special mention too: fresh, delicious, and prepared with so much care.

The property is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by greenery. There are flowers and plants everywhere, little corners full of life, and a peacefulness that makes you want to slow down and simply enjoy where you are. Mornings were especially lovely, with mist drifting through the trees and the hills gradually appearing in the distance.

And then there's the deck. It's easily our favourite spot at Terra Mist. During the day, you get a stunning view of the valley, Kalimpong town, and the surrounding hills. As the day fades, sitting there with a cup of tea and watching the clouds move across the mountains feels incredibly peaceful. At night, the view changes completely — a sky full of stars that you rarely get to see from the city.

What makes Terra Mist special isn't just the location or the property. It's the combination of the scenery, the food, the hospitality, and all the little details that make you feel cared for.

If you're looking for a peaceful getaway in Kalimpong, Terra Mist is a place we'd happily recommend. We left with wonderful memories and a strong feeling that we'd love to come back.
